Climate collapse and the loss of biodiversity are the most serious problems of our times. The construction, operation and deconstruction of buildings play a leading part in this. They are responsible for about 40% of all CO2 emissions and at the same time have a significant impact on natural habitats. The serial manufacturing of products, their distribution and disposal also put a serious strain on the environment.

We live in a holistic system. Everything is connected. In order not to irrevocably destroy the ecological balance of our planet, immediate rethinking and action is needed.

In cooperation with its building contractors and clients, Studio Hürlemann wants to design and realise projects and products which function as a part of a sustainable system. We are committed to changing the way we work so that our buildings, rooms, furniture, products and installations have as positive an influence as possible on the environment.
