Vitra, Dancing Wall 2, 2026

Vitra, Switzerland

The Dancing Wall family, originally launched in 2018, has been further developed by Stephan Hürlemann in collaboration with Vitra. The aim was to increase flexibility while significantly reducing resource consumption. The result is Dancing Wall 2.

Dancing Wall structures spaces with clarity and adaptability — now offering even greater ease in responding to changing requirements.

A revised construction reduces material use in the steel frame by 36 percent and lowers the overall weight by 28 kilograms without compromising stability or functionality. All relevant certification standards remain fully met.

The steel contains 45% recycled material, while the aluminium components have a recycled content of 95%. The panels are made of SWISSCDF, a material that can be fully reintegrated into the wood cycle.

At the same time, the product family has been functionally expanded. In addition to planters, pinboards, whiteboards, shelves, screen-ready versions and coat racks, closed storage units and a recycling station are now available. The new Dancing Wall Station introduces a half-height version that functions as a mobile standing desk or sideboard.
