It had to be quick, ecological and sustainable: Within two weeks Studio Hürlemann developed «Möbelibar» at Neumarkt Studio 17 for horgenglarus, the manufacturer of chairs and tables in canton Glarus. This pop-up bar, established on the occasion of Zurich Design Weeks 2023 from August 31 to September 30, served classic Swiss cuisine, newly interpreted by gourmet chef Pascal Schmutz.
Studio Hürlemann turned what is usually used as a showroom for furniture of various manufacturers into a place for cosy get-togethers applying only minor constructional changes. The floor and bar made of white varnished OSB serve as a stage for the new furniture by horgenglarus, among them the colourful chair family imma by Stephan Hürlemann. Walls painted in black and additive ceiling and table lamps create a comfortable atmosphere. An installation of mirrors in the upper room nook sets the scene for a unique piece of the imma Designer’s Edition. On the exterior facade, a bench, also desgined by Studio Hürlemann, extends the bar towards Neumarkt Gasse. Every added element can be dismantled and reused.
